Warning signs you need to get help for baby

If baby is unresponsive and no pulse, start CPR and call 911

Call 911 if baby is having trouble breathing or turning bluish/gray in the lips, tongue, or skin or if you feel there is a life-threatening emergency

Call baby’s provider for

  • Temp under the arm is over 100.4 or under 97.5
  • No wet diaper in 12 hours by day 2
  • No dirty diaper in 48 hours
  • Unusual or high-pitched cry
  • Frequent and/or forceful vomiting
  • Frequent, loose, watery, stools with mucous or foul odor
  • Rapid breathing >60 /min or working hard to breathe
  • Making a grunting or whistling/wheezing noise with breathing
  • Soft spot on baby’s head looks swollen
  • Yellow color to chest, arms, whites of eyes
  • Severe or unusual rash
  • Crying, irritability, or twitching that doesn’t get better with attempts to comfort
